Daytime activities

Real bullfights are performed every Wednesday at 3:30 pm, in the Plaza de Toros in downtown Cancún Bullfighting was introduced to Mexico by Spain in the 16th century and is one of this country's oldest traditions. A bullfight is a ritual with several movements. At half-time visitors are entertained with regional dances, games and Mexican rodeo feats. Cancún's Plaza de Toros is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records because of its unique year-round season. The bullfighting season traditionally runs for three months beginning in December.

For non-spectator sports, there are rollerblades and bicycles for rent and the Hotel Zone's, 10-mile bike path, lit for nightime cruising, and alive with walkers, joggers, cyclists, and skaters during the day. The path runs on the bayside of Kukulcán Blvd., from downtown to the Viva Hotel. Mopeds and buggies are also available along Kukulcán Boulevard.
