In Mexico it is considered an insult for waiters to submit a bill before it's requested so visitors must ask “La cuenta por favor”, the bill please. Visitors who wish to pay in US dollars should note that change will be given in pesos. Expect the establishment's exchange rate to be lower than the bank's; this is only logical. And check operating hours carefully as many restaurants don't open for breakfast and lunch starts later in Mexico.
