 Playacar is a fully-fledged community replete with a hotels, mall, restaurants, aviary, condos and villas. It spreads south from the ferry dock and can be accessed on foot at that point. The main entrance, is off the highway, about two kilometers south of the entrance to Playa del Carmen. The on-site 18-hole golf course is carved out of the jungle, includes cenotes and is considered one of the most challenging in the state.
