The sloping shoreline and shallow water of Calderitas make it a great recreational beach for visitors and locals alike. There are thatched palapas and shade umbrellas along the shoreline and local fishermen offer boat trips around the bay.
Just eight kilometers north of Chetumal, the site’s rustic, tropical-style restaurants are famous for their fresh seafood and sweeping views of the bay and Isla Tamalcab.
To get to Calderitas, head north on Ave. Heroes, then take a right at the fork (km 6.5) and the beach is 1.5 km later.
