 Southern Quintana Roo is blessed by nature. Its many ‘eco-niches’ and their relatively pristine condition make the south the perfect eco-tour destination. Birdlife is abundant, with over 300 colorful species in the jungles and wetlands, and the area is home to endangered mammals such as the jaguar, howler monkey, tapir, peccary, otter and manatee. Visitors can trek deep into the forest; glide through the mangroves in search of birds and crocodiles, rent a cabin or camp on the beach.
