 Cancún certainly lives up to its name. Travel agencies offer a range of day trips to the archaeological sites in the area such as Tulum, Cobá and Chichén Itzá (Yucatán). Longer excursions will take you to Uxmal and the Puuc Route (Kabah, Sayil, Xlapak and Labná) in the Yucatán, to the ancient cities of Kohunlich and Dzibanché in southern Quintana Roo, to Palenque in Chiapas, and further afield to Tikal in Guatemala and Copán in Honduras.
