 Mexico's craftsmen and women have created a world inhabited by fantastic creatures of every imaginable color, shape and form. Watch for objects in jade, bronze, tin, copper and onyx; sterling silver and gold filigree jewelry, household ornaments and tableware (a real bargain); handcarved hardwoods (furnishings and adornments); furniture; papier mâché and handmade figures in clay; trees of life, glass, piñatas, musical instruments, ceremonial masks, Panama hats, cowboy sombreros, baskets, rugs, sarapes or blankets, shawls, ethnic clothing (huipils and guayabera shirts), hammocks, amate or bark paper paintings, wooden toys, alebrijes (strange, brightly colored creatures carved from wood), leather (shoes, boots, bags and jackets) and objects of woven palm.
