 Isla's narrow streets are full of shops stocking beachware and handicrafts from all over Mexico. Look for pottery, wood carvings, Panama hats, weavings from Chiapas and Oaxaca, Yucatecan huipiles, textiles, hammocks, obsidian, onyx, local art and Mayan-style carved shells. The island is famous for the fine gold and silver jewelry created by local jewelers.
