 The Riviera Maya spreads out along Highway 307, the road to state capital Chetumal. There are road works on some stretches of the route further south so please heed warning signs and reduce speed. The entrances to the various resorts and communities is clearly marked, look for signs on your left (north-south direction). Some of the access roads are paved, others are dirt roads and conditions vary. They cut through areas of jungle and mangrove before reaching the beach.
