 Playa del Carmen (68 km) is the fishing village that has followed in the footsteps of Cancún and is now a boom town. Located halfway to Tulum, it is the ferry port for Cozumel and the nearest town to some of the state’s biggest tourist attractions. Its cosmopolitan atmosphere has made it a favorite with Mexican and foreign tourists alike.
