 Puerto Morelos has beaches just outside town, to reach them take the road south from the main square to Punta Estrella. Visitors can take a trip into the forest to learn about Mayan medicinal plants or travel inland along the Ruta de Cenotes, a route that will take them to several sinkholes and the chicle harvesters camp at Central Vallarta.
