 Xcaret is a nature-and-Mexican culture theme park located on the coast, at the site of an ancient settlement. It is 75 km south of Cancún, seven kilometers south of Playa del Carmen. The park encompasses an area of jungle, a natural inlet and a palm-fringed beach. There are so many activities going on that you really need a whole day here. Facilities include several sit-down restaurants and a number of snack bars and a shop. Round-trip transportation is available from Cancún for a reasonable fee. Departures at 9, 10 and 11 a.m. from the Xcaret Terminal at Playa Caracol in the Hotel Zone. Buses return to Cancún at 4:30 or 8 p.m.
