 The section of coast running from Majahual to Xcalak has been christened the Costa Maya – a veritable idyll of white sand and turquoise sea. Rustic accommodations are gradually being improved upon, but the setting is perfect just as it is. The turnoff to Majahual is located on Highway 307, at the southern exit of a village called Limones, north of Bacalar. The Costa Maya is currently being promoted as a cruise ship destination and a port of call for yachtsmen doing the Caribbean circuit.
